Decom Solar Bolsters Team with First CFO Hire

Decom Solar, a turn-key solar decommissioning company, has announced the hiring of Jonathan Downey as Chief Financial Officer. Before joining Decom Solar, Jon co-founded Southern Current, which brought utility-scale solar and battery storage to thirteen states with projects ranging from 2 MW’s to 400 MW’s.

“We’re beyond excited to have Jon join our executive team. Finding someone with his experience scaling a business and the financial discipline that comes with it is rare,” said Decom Solar co-founder, Steve Burns. “The timing couldn’t be better. Demand for our services keeps growing, and Jon’s addition means we can scale without sacrificing the attention our clients and their projects deserve.”

Since its inception, Decom Solar has offered the nation’s premier solar decommissioning experience while maintaining its commitment to keeping solar modules out of landfills. Jon is aligned with the mission. According to Jon, the future should involve more solar, and a critical component of that future is end-of-life care for this technology.

“We need to be stewards of the entire lifecycle of these systems.” With those shared beliefs in mind, the choice to come to Decom Solar was obvious. “We are the best-in-class provider,” Jon explained.
