Proof in the Numbers: Decom Solar’s Broad Impact

It’d be a shame, wouldn’t it? If your favorite artist or musician was producing their usual great work, but no one could enjoy it. That’d be a tragedy!
That’s because *impact* matters.
When we at Decom Solar transitioned from being great at installing America’s important solar energy systems to world-class decommissioning, we wanted to make an impact. After all, navigating how to responsibly decommission solar systems is as important as the planet-saving reasons they were installed in the first place!
Not all decommissioning experiences are the same. 819 Energy’s Managing Partner, Joseph Lerner, highlighted, “Decom Solar was a great partner for our Mays Landing decommissioning project. Their team communicated clearly from start to finish, worked seamlessly with our tenant, and followed through on every commitment. In our experience, few companies handle this type of work with the same level of care and expertise.”
We love hearing about our partners’ positive experiences, but we’re just as proud of our ability to reach partner needs across the country.
A world-class experience with nationwide impact.
Decom Solar can be the best at solar recycling and decommissioning, but if we don’t have a significant impact across the country… it just doesn’t matter. This is why we’re proud to boast a nationwide footprint and a diverse partner base. Our turnkey options and regional support means we can help partners decommission solar in any scenario, in virtually any part of the country.
When you look at Decom by the numbers, the impact is profound.
As of writing, Decom Solar is doing environmental saving work across sixteen states. To date, we have decommissioned more than 140,000 modules. To give you any idea, one megawatt is enough power to serve nearly one thousand homes. We’ve masterfully decommissioned more than 32 megawatts!
Notable Stats:
- Total Modules: 141,823
- Total Megawatts: 32.4
- Active States: 16
- Project Sites: 60
These numbers might be impressive on their own, but the real message lies in the alternative. Poorly decommissioned solar systems that do not adhere toindustry best practices often end up in landfills. Frankly, 140,000 modules represented as trash is a bleak alternative.
Since our inception, Decom Solar has seen year-over-year growth and we expect our impact numbers to continue to grow. No matter where you are, we’re ready to help.
